With a range of 250 miles at a top speed of 25 knots, the latest lifeboat to go into service at Courtmacsherry Lifeboat Station is a superb craft. Built at Osborne's in Littlehampton she is amost 14 metres in length and is powered by two 808 h.p. engines. In the Trent Class, she replaced the Arthur and Blanche Harris which was in the Waveney Class.

The massive cost of the boat was met largely from a legacy from the late Mr. Frederick Storey Cockburn of Worthing in Sussex, which boasts some fine navigational aids, including daylight radar, chart plotter and satellite navigation. Greatly enhanced search and rescue facilities were sorely called upon this summer, when the Lifeboat Stations around Ireland were busier than ever, due to adverse weather conditions.
